NWHA Waitlist
The NWHA waiting list changes often. Please call to find out your position on the waiting list. If you have applied for housing but have not received an approval letter then you have not been added to the waiting list. Please wait until after you receive a letter to call about your status.

Application Process and Procedures:
Applicants can expect a letter of approval or denial within 2-3 weeks of application date. If you have not received a letter within 3 weeks please call the office to discuss your application.
Applicants are not considered approved until receipt of approval letter.
Please note that if you are denied housing you have the option to request a hearing with our director within 10 days of the date on your letter.
If you fail to request a hearing, within 10 days, your application will become inactive and you will be required to reapply for housing consideration.
Preference will be given to applicants who:
1. Receive SSI, SSA or Disability Income.
2. Are 62 years of age or older.
3. Have been working in North Wilkesboro city limits for at least
the past 4 months (must be
working at date of housing to
receive preference)
