The North Wilkesboro Housing Authority provides this supplemental notice to the public regarding the Public Hearing the Authority will conduct at it's regularly scheduled meeting on May 26th, 2020, at 5:30 PM in the conference room at 101 Hickory Street, North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. Recently enacted North Carolina law concerning public meetings held during emergency situations has changed several meeting procedures, and the new law will affect the conduct of the Public Hearing if the current public health emergency continues on May 26th. The Housing Authority may be required to conduct the meeting and Hearing with limited or no public access, using an internet or other platform. If so, the Authority will post information on it's website about how the public can access the meeting.
Although the Authority office is currently not open to the public, anyone who wishes to examine the proposed budget or obtain meeting access information may contact the Authority at (336) 667-3203 for meeting details and to arrange for receipt of a copy of the proposed budget. In addition, if the public health emergency dictates the public cannot attend the meeting in person and the meeting method means that interested personas are not able to be heard in real time, anyone who wishes to comment about the budget may do so in writing prior to the Public Hearing and for twenty-fours hours afterward. After the Public Hearing concludes the Board of Commissioners intend to recess the meeting for at least twenty-four hours before resuming in open session to vote on the budget.
